Introducing Tranquil Finance

Overview

Tranquil Finance is an algorithmic money market protocol on the Harmony ONE blockchain. It allows users to supply and borrow assets, while receiving or paying interest in a completely permissionless and decentralized way. Borrowing and lending interest is set based on market demand, and loans are over-collateralized to ensure solvency.

This model was pioneered by the Compound protocol on Ethereum, but high gas fees have made the protocol untenable for most users. Building on Harmony ONE gives the Tranquil protocol fast and cheap transactions, democratizing access to everyone.

Tranquil is similar to protocols, such Compound, AAVE, Venus or Benqi that exist on other blockchains. Harmony currently lacks such a money market protocol, which is a critical component of DeFi ecosystem on every blockchain.

Although our journey has just started, we hope to build the best money market primitive on Harmony ONE, and help grow alongside the Harmony ecosystem.

Roadmap

The Tranquil Finance app currently live on the testnet, where you can get a sneak-peek of what’s to come.

Our next immediately step is to properly launch the TRANQ token, which is the governance token of the Tranquil protocol.

As you can see by the testnet app, we are quite far along in development, and our current plan is to launch on the mainnet by the end of October, so stay tuned!
